Welcome to 2025!
New Year and New Beginnings!
This is the first post of the year and boy has it been a busy and unexpected year for myself and family. Last year, December 2023 to be exact we listed our house for sale before Christmas and actually sold it on December 29, 2023, before the new year. Trust me, it was a hard decision, we were all getting out of our comfort zone and stepping into the unknown. we never thought we would truly leave our state of New Jersey, but it had become unsafe for us, and the change from a small hometown (where everyone knows your name and family) to a city of multicultural, unknown people with “woke” agendas left us sad, sick and depressed. There was no way around the changes that came, our quality of life was impeded upon and no politician or law enforcement would help us. So we decided to move. Leave behind the life we knew, the people we loved and venture out into a whole new world.
We spent about 2 years searching for where to put down our roots and it was in March of 2024 that we found our spot. The property I flew down to see was only on the market 4 hours but was booking appointments and showings immediately. We had lost several houses because the market was racing with new buyers every day, like us, leaving their state because of quality of life issues. We knew we weren’t alone.
Finally seeing the home and putting a bid on it that night we secured it before the other offers came in and that is the short side of how we got our home.
For me, the hardest things to think ahead for, was can my dogs make the 16 hour trip in a car, over 2 days, and not get car sick or panic stricken or anxiety issues ? My dogs surprised me. Not only did they do the ride there perfectly, loved the hotel (that catered to dogs) but once at the house, they owned it! Their silliness came back, huge dog grins from ear to ear! That ws the moment I knew we did the right thing.
Our sons had seen the house and loved it more when they got there. Each one raced around the house to pick out their rooms, telling the movers where their stuff goes.
My husband was able to work from home and set up his office, and I not only brought my healing practice with me, but am working at home as an Wellness Product Advocate and Innovative Marketer for a Wellness Product Company. I get to help families switch out their chemical products, beauty products and home products for cleaner, greener, natural ones. In being of service to families, I also assist women with starting their own business from home. I love being of service to people, their pets and nature.
All of this great stuff didn’t come without some scary moments as well. I was flat out scared to leave my home, not knowing if the grass was greener or dead on the other side. I left behind so many amazing best friends who were there for me these past 5 years as I battled our healthcare system just to get my cancer treated. Then there is that word “cancer” that scares most but for me, it opened up the many lessons I needed to see on how it manifested, what changes I needed to make in my life, how was I going to be treated, were my decisions being honored.
I was not in a good place, thinking if I was ruining my sons’ lives, uprooting us from family, leaving my amazing veterinarian, losing my jobs over the stick in the arm. We needed to find our sanctuary, feel safe and serene, where we could literally plant our food, become sovereign and still reconnect with the sacredness of life. Did I have my cancer taken cared of? Yes I did!
Coming out now from this rollercoaster of a year, we made the right decisions. Yes, there were legitimate fears and some insane anxiety, but we researched, wrote out game plans, made lists and through it all, supported each other, even when the other couldn’t do it. We were each others rocks, and that’s all that mattered.
Now I write this note to you, to tell you to find your why…discover your authenticity…follow your dreams…and be a North Star.
Welcome to 2025! You made it and so did I!
I’ve got some events on the horizon, some workshops on Shadow Work, Garden Sovereignty and also some meet and greets coming! I can’t wait to hear, see and meet y’all!
